Final update before the tournament starts on Sunday

We are getting closer and really excited to see you all face-to-face.

We have loaded up our final newsletter Click here

Hopefully, we have covered everything you need to prepare you well for the tournament. Please reach out if you have any questions - we will endeavour to get back to you asap and will be regularly checking these emails.

The main control desk will be in the back stadium (Rodney Green Arena), but we will have volunteers floating throughout both stadiums.

There is a big team that has put this together and I can not thank all our volunteers enough for what they do for netball. They work full-time, are often involved in other roles in netball and give a lot of time to this tournament.

Watch out during the week as we celebrate some of our regular supporters with service and life membership awards.

Please follow our LNISS Facebook page as we will be posting photos and updates on this social media channel and there are some great prizes on offer for your teams.

Please if you notice anything that we can help with, made a mistake during the week (ie draw etc)- speak up and let us know by emailing lnissnetball@gmail.com

Safe travels everyone.

NetballSmart Wellbeing and Loading survey for players to complete pre &/or during the tournament

As leaders in netball, coaches play a crucial role in ensuring that the game is played with a focus on the players' health, safety, and enjoyment. Netball New Zealand and NetballSmart are committed to assisting coaches in pursuing excellence in netball. Adopting a holistic approach to player development and well-being is crucial.

For the 2024 secondary school tournament, NetballSmart would like to encourage coaches to consider Player Load Management.

Research Project
All players are invited to participate in an important survey conducted by NetballSmart. The aim is to fully understand the total workload experienced by talented secondary school netball players. Player input is extremely valuable in helping us identify areas where we can support our players in performing at their best in their selected sports while minimising the risk of injury. The QR code for the survey will be posted around the venue or players can use this link https://forms.office.com/r/Bg1LXD5rpE.

Player Load Guidelines
Managing player load is crucial for preventing overuse injuries and ensuring each player can perform at their best. Please refer to the Netball NZSS Guide for more guidelines. https://www.netballnz.co.nz/component/nnzlibrary/download/610f50635aae31456c94cdd1645569ab.html

Farewell to Ivy Topping
Sadly we say farewell to one of our LNISS Stalwarts Ivy Topping.
Ivy has given many years of service to netball and LNISSs. She has given her time to many whether it be coaches, players, officials, and families, because she wanted netball to be the vehicle to help individuals be better versions of themselves on and off the court. She achieved this and some. You will be missed by many Ivy. RIP lovely lady.

Registration of interest for the 2024 LNISS tournament

We are seeking team registration of interest so that we can gauge team numbers for A and B Grade. As part of this registration we are asking the name and grade of your umpire. Please note umpire must be Centre level of above to attend LNISSs. If you are finding it difficult to find an umpire please reach out to your Centre to see if they can assist you with this. This year teams are to bring their own umpires where they must provide transport, accommodation, and meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner).

We have also compiled our 2nd newsletter that has some key information. There are two new policies that we are seeking your feedback if you wish to do so. You can find the newletters here https://www.sporty.co.nz/lnissn/Newsletters/Current-Newsletter?em=1#

If you have any questions on any of the above please contact the committee on lnissnetball@gmail.com.

Fantastic Coaching opportunity - 13 April 2024 in Manawatu

Netball Manawatu is hosting Graeme Robson at Vautier Park on Saturday the 13th of April from 9:30 to 2:00 pm. There is a small investment of $20 which you will gain a truckload of knowledge, tips and tricks, plus a light lunch. AMAZING.
"Graeme Robson has been involved with high-performance sport for over 45 years, first as an international athlete and sport scientist before becoming National Coach for Badminton New Zealand for 7 years. He then transitioned into the NZ High-Performance sport system initially working at the NZ Academy of Sport North Island as Coach Support Manager before it became part of High-Performance Sport NZ. He has recently retired but still retains a huge passion for helping coaches coach skill and decision-making across several sports, including Netball which he has been associated with since 2003."
